I think I've found the fix for the very poor design feature of engine access panel and generator panel access failure. (Coming un-glued/bonded).

I repaired both while in Key West as they were about to fall off. I removed them completely from the m/h, including the metal frames and cleaned them off all old bonding material.

I then glued them with 3M 5200 and clamped them for two days. We've put about 800 miles on them and still better than they came from the factory.

I marked the back of the panels in 3 or 4 places with a magic marker to get a good line up for glueing.

OldChief, Sometimes you have to grab the bull by the horns and provide your own solutions. Congratulations on the nice repair.

I really like the adhesive qualities of 5200. One of the more tenacious ones out there. It also doesn't have the hard, brittle properties that is found in the glue that Wini used.

An alternative to gluing is fiberglass repair. It is more work but you can do it yourself. Benefit is that it is more permanent, but definitely can be messy. My previous dealer glue jobs lasted about 3 months.
But oldchief maybe you found the right glue.

I had our dealer glue my hood back in place last year when he was doing other work. So far it has held. I guess we will see how long it will stay attached. The dealer charge more than I think the job was worth but he was doing a lot of other work and and had our MH for about six weeks so I added the hood on to his tasks.

I used another 3M product #8115 worked great. I didn't bother taking it off either I just slabbed it on, looks ugly but holds great.
