My family had Winnebagos when I was a kid, but I just bought MY first one, a 22' 1987 Chieftain. (Only 35,000 miles, so it's in great shape.)
A have a generic Winnebago Owner's Manual and am trying to familiarize myself with everything, but I can't find the Power Control Center. I've looked in and under just about everything and am stumped. Can anybody help?
I'm going to ask some stupid questions in the future, such as pilot lights and all, but I thought I'd start with a simple one.
(Where's the dancing pink elephant Smilie on this forum?)

It was not uncommon for Winnebago to place the power center in the rear of the rig in that era. Look in the overhead cabinets and could even possibly in the rear access compartment outside. Your smaller 22ft rig had a small converter which I believe is simular to the Parallax 6730 version ( http://www.parallaxpower.com/6700/PP...20brochure.pdf)

There is ,I don't think, a power control center. I think you get what you get. Now if you are looking for the converter on my 89 it was behind a drawer near the refer. Welcome to our world and think about joining WIT.

I contacted WIT and asked if I could have my family's old number (5051) but they said I can't have it, so I'm pouting.
Maybe they'll come around...

The WIT number is assigned to a member for life. Get your own number and be proud of it. 5051 is a very low number and would indicate that membership must have been near or was a charter member!

Okay, so I found the Power Control Center. As you might have expected, it was right in front of me. A brown panel below the closet had a latch that didn't seem to do anything. I pushed it up, down, left, right, and in - I never thought to rotate it.
Concerning the WIT number, we joined in 1972. The lady effectively told me that were I to put the coach in my mother's name, she could re-join and we could have 5051 back. I'm actually thinking about doing that - it would only me cost me $18 to change the registration.

What if you re-registered the coach in your OR your mothers names. That way you can still do whatever you want with the title without your mothers "permission".
