Working on a 2001 Chieftain with Ford v10. While under the coach noticed a vacuum line dangling on top of the motor. Opened the dog house and can not find where it should be connected. It is a white plastic line that comes from right front of motor. There are white, red and black lines that originate in front and below motor from a rectangular black box attached to the back side of the front frame member all in the same bundle.

When you open the hood look up in about the middle of the opening. There should be a vacuum canister roughly in the shape of a ball bolted to the body. It's likely one of the lines has come loose.

Ours has come off a couple times when someone has checked the oil. The line hangs down slightly and can be loosened by brushing it with your hand or the dipstick.

Found it. After taking the doghouse off and a second look I found that the white hose line connects to another spot in front of and slightly above the engine on the Right. Looks like some type of engine control as (2) 3/8" lines coming from the rear of the intake plenum also attach to it.
