It has been implied by two members on this forum that anyone not owning a Winnebago should not reply to posted topics. I would hope that is not the consensus.

Nothing has changed.
iRV2 is inclusive, not exclusive.

The only thing we ask of posts in the Owner's Forums is (per our Community Rules):

Posts made in the various 'Owners' forums should be relative to the brand of that forum.
|
If a member asks a question here about a Winnebago Horizon, what would be a solution on my Fleetwood Bounder, more than likely, would not apply. I would want to be sure that what I was offering up as help was applicable to the person with that Horizon.

My question pertained to the thread titled "I was impressed with the V10 performance." I knew full well that it did not have anything to do with Winnebago and that the thread originated from that forum. Two members indicated that I should not post there, just wanted a consensous/ clarification.

I drive a monaco, and items that I believe only pertain to monaco (such as specific wiring questions), I post in the monaco forum. Items that pertain to any class A go in general or class A, etc. It really doesn't matter much, but can help in getting a good answer quicker.
I can admit to being bugged when someone with a (for example) winnie gasser responds to a post I made in the monaco forum concerning the BIRD system monaco uses in thier diesel pushers....
While many things are common across brands, many are not.

I will have to admit that I become irritated when some hijack a thread, just to do so ,and have nothing of revelance to add, pretty much seeking a confrontation.
Sometimes difficult to resist, but Im working on it.

One thing to keep in mind, the RV a member lists in their signature doesn't mean that's the only RV they have experience with. They may have, at one time or another, owned the very brand being discussed. For example, I list only my current RV in my signature, but I've owned both a 5-r pulled by an HD truck & a TT pulled by an SUV. I have knowledge on all but, by what's listed in my signature, it would appear that I would not. In this case the don't-judge-a-book-by-its-cover idiom applies.
