Freightliner fuel sender ground?

On My Freightliner XC chassis I am getting erratic fuel guage readings...Guage moves up and down at will and is sometimes showing empty and then slowly climbes to full....I am wondering if I have a loose ground at the sending unit but can't find it...It doesn't show on the Winne diagrams and charts but gives a wire number of 16UD (white)...Had similar problem on my 94 Vectra/Spartan and found the ground and a remote guage at the side of the tank on the frame rail...cleaned the connections and all was ok....Thanks for any info you might have RKL
