Fresh Water Intake Issue

I have a 22R and on a recent trip to Joshua Tree National Park, I stopped to fill my fresh water tank. When the gauge started showing full, I cut off the water.

But, at the intake outlet, water dribbles out for an hour or two and I end up with just 3/4 full. I checked around here and the threads only mention underside overflow lines. This is at the intake point.

Is this usual or am I just doing something wrong? I never had this happen with the MH I owned 25 years ago.

Thanks! I checked the different threads and didn't see one with the same scenario/problem I have. Although, I did see one that suggested opening a faucet with the pump on first to relieve pressure. I'll try that.

There is a check valve just inside the hose connection. Push in on it and wiggle it a bit to see if you can reseat it. You can also get a plastic plug with hose threads.

The check valve was kind of sticking out and loose. Pushed it in and it seems secure now.
