Fresh Water Overflow

I have a 98 Winnebago Adventure WFG33WQ (model number). When I went out camping this weekend I hooked up the water into the RV at the panel. I set the valve to City Water fill which is for the camp water to enter into the RV. The other side of the valve is for filling my holding tanks. The problem is that durning the evening and morning the overflow on my holding tanks would start to let water out.

I've hooked the water up this way every time we go camping without a problem. The only thing I can think of is that the valve where I hooked up is letting water into the holding tank. Or that the cooler weather had something to do with this.

I believe that there is supposed to be a check valve between the city water and your fresh water to keep the city water from entering the fresh water tank. Sounds like that check valve is allowing water to seep past and overflow your fresh water tank.

Either that valve is bad or the water pump check valve is bad.

The water pump was just replaced about three to four months ago. So I hope it's not the water pump. How can I check the valve or should I just replace it?

If it's a lever that switches from city to fill (like mine) then you should be able to hear if water is flowing when switched to city. If it is then it's letting water flow into the tank and will overflow it.

Another thread on the same issue: http://www.irv2.com/forums/f101/fres...nk-166602.html

This seems to be a common issue, just do a google search for a lot of results.

Possibly the valve can be repaired - it should not be switched under pressure - turn the city water off before switching it.

I did a quick search and didn't find a ready source for a complete valve replacement so it may be a winnebago part. Here's the fische - you would probably have to call these guys: Winnebago Parts - Parts for all Winnebago motorhome makes, models, and years, including Itasca, Rialta, Eurovan - Specializing in the Renault based Winnebago LeSharo, Phasar, and Centauri Motorhomes

Parts catalog: http://www.winnebagoind.com/resource...go_Catalog.pdf
