Fresh water tank valve leaking ?

Has anyone else had a problem and how did you fix it. DH sees a panel under there. We are on the road and don't want to get into anything too involved. I expect it is on some kind of cable like those old dump valves. Thx

I have to assume you are talking about the city water connection. They go bad and do leak. By coincidence I just remove mine today and will get a new one tomorrow. That's the only way your going to solve the leak.

That should be a large ball valve which hardly ever go bad. There might be some small debris in it. Just open and close it all the way a couple of times, and see if that stops it. It also could be the clap on it needs to be tightened.

Beabop, the valve looks like a small version of one of your dump valves with a long cable on it. The cable came loose on mine and would not close. There is a small panel you can remove to get to it. So if the water is coming out the drain pipe this could be your problem.
The other leak I had came from the union between the valve and the tank it was loose. The water was dripping from the bottom seam in the cover around the tank.

Thx GR, I thought it might have a cable on it, we had a 2000 with the notorious cable dump valves. They stretched and leaked. We filled the tank to the top yesterday and it is not leaking today. We are going to stop in a campground for a few days and if it leaks and the weather is good, DH will look at it.
