I believe this is the issue. The refrigerator is defrosting itself. My service advisor made contact with Norcold and that is what they told him. What concerns me is the freezer temperature rises to 40 degrees during the defrost mode. This can't be normal, can it???

To me, this seems extremely high. Even if the defrost mode only lasts an hour or two, any food frozen in the freezer would start to thaw. When I checked our freezer at 40 degrees, the bag of frozen fruit we had in there was soft.

Thoughts???

EXACTLY !!!

Dump it and install a residential fridge and you'll never have to worry about large temperature swings and food spoilage EVER again. Plus there are many other benefits.

I will NEVER have another RV fridge in my coach.

This might be the answer for my cold weather issue. After the defrost cycle, the ambient temperature is low enough that the return to the cooling cycle isn't triggered.

I'm trying to make a habit of cycling power every morning to avoid the defrost cycle now to see if that helps.

I really like being able to run on gas, so I'm not interested in swapping out for a residential unit.
