I replaced the latch on my screen door (2004 Meridian) and now when I open the front door the screen door stays locked. It's OK when I'm inside but it's hard to open from the outside. How do I solve this problem?

Its an adjustment on the screen door latch. Loosen the screws and slide it down till the screen door handle is in the open position when it's against the outer door.

I can't slide the latch down because it's the kind of latch where the screen is attached on 2 sides of the latch.

Ok on the outer door itself, is there a catch that has a little hook on it? This should be adjustable and slide to hold the screen door handle open whne both doors are closed.
