I have an 07 Adventurer on a Workhorse chassis. Is there any way to reset the average gas mileage readout on the dash computer without having to disconnect the chassis/engine battery?

Workhorse or Ford chasis?
I know the Workhorse manual covers the display computer.
- I would look it up for you, but the coach is under 2 feet of snow right now.
I mean, there is 2 feet of snow on the ground. lol.

I believe there are mode and reset push buttons next to the display on your dash. You should have instructions on how to use them that came with all the other reading material that was included with your rv.

You can download a copy of the Actia service manual here http://oemys-performance.com/media/actiaservicemanual.pdf
you might find the info in it.

David:
I'm not sure what you are trying to accomplish, but I hope this may help. If you are reading the "instant mpg", which changes VERY frequently as you drive, it is "resetting" constantly. If you are reading the "average mpg", which changes MUCH more infrequently, then please understand that it is simply displaying the average of the most recent "instant" calculations and therefore is really resetting itself also, just less frequently.
It is NOT displaying your average mpg for all miles driven. I'm not certain how many of the instant calculations are included in the calculation of the average, but I think it is either the last 50 or the last 100 "instant" readings.
Your idea of disconnecting the battery may work to cause a "reset" but I don't think that it will begin a new "lasting" period of time over which you can compare averages. I believe what we have displayed is a "moving average".
Merry Christmas!
Ed

Thanks for the explanation, edgray. I just assumed that the average gas mileage reading was an average of the aggregate of all the miles driven. This makes much more sense.

Dave,
With the engine running and the Avg MPG being displayed, push in and hold the Trip button for about 5 or 6 seconds. You will see the numbers reset to 0.0.
