How do you remove the gas props from the outside storage doors?
Thanks,
Ron

The connector on the end of the gas strut has a cap that you have to pry outward so it will come of the ball. I use a small screwdriver (there are small slots around the perimeter of the cap) to pry it up.
Some of the struts have a spring clip that you have to pull out and up to release the strut from the ball.

Thanks,
I saw the small slit but wasn't sure if you were supposed to pry it off or not. I'll look at it again and see if I can pry it off.

There are actually 4 slits around that cap. Pry a bit on each of them and the cap should lift up a bit and release the fitting from the ball.
On my rig, the bottom attachment is not so easy. The brackets with the ball are mounted so close together (where there are side-by-side compartments), that you don't have room to lift that little cap. I actually had to take the screws out of one of the ball gizmos, remove it and then get the fitting off the ball.

I've got them at Auto-Zone. Yours might be different.

Most auto parts stores sell them. There should be a part number on the old strut. They can also be purchased on line by searching "gas strut".

Found the props on eBay, purchased a pack of 10 for just over $100. They were new in sealed packages and matched identical by number to those on the coach. The auto parts store was a little pricey. Ebay also has single units. Just sign into eBay and type Winnebago Gas strut, they have several Two packs, in the details it will list the particulars for the struts including the ones on your inside cabint doors.

Thanks, too late though, I tried NAPA and they didn't have any to match mine so I had to go to Lazy Days. A little pricy, and I coudn't find a match at Camping World either which would have been a little cheaper
I actually waited too late to start looking around for a better price, so I had to pay the price
We leave for our summer vacation in a few days
Ron
