Generator issues

I have an Onan Marquis Gold 5500 (HGJAB). I actually have two issues and they may not be related.

First, the generator will start and run for about 15 to 30 minutes and then shut down. Yes, I have enough gas. It will start again but only run for about 5 minutes. When it shuts down it sounds like it is starving for fuel. I do have a dirty air filter, a new one is on order. I have also ordered a new fuel filter.

The second issue is on the Energy Management System. When I first start the generator, it says it is on the Gen. But then it switches to 50amp. My generator does not output 240 volts so I am confused.

thepratts, Just grabbing for straws here but have you checked the "oil level?"

It turned out to be the fuel pump. But it least now it also has a new air and fuel filter.

IRT the EMS, it may be losing the B+ from the gen.

The EMT problem went away on its own.

Thanks for the heads up. I will keep a watch on it.
