As you face the generator, there is a wire bundle (small) with about 6 wires in it. It will be on the right top of the panel with the start switch in it. There is a pinch lock on the bottom and top of the clear plastic plug. Unlock this plug. remove it and check for dirt or corrison. Clean the conn. and reinstall. It will probably work now.

I too am having the same problem. I have a 98 Luxor, although Winnebago doesn't have any wiring diagrams for a 98 Luxor- I have used the Ultimate with similar model number. I found the "start" wire is either broken or no continuity to inside switches. I ran a temporary wire from the aforementioned post-connector to connector inside just before dash switch. Voila-the genset starts from the dash switch-but not from any others. The wiring diagrams are a joke-each thast refers to this wire "LL" in my case-has a different connection and from/to. It is so ridiculous that in one diagram it indicated this set of genset wires are going up to my "range hood". To say I'm frustrated with this mess is an understatement. I phoned Winnebago and it was their considered opinion it was all in the dash switch-as all the other wiring to the other switches comes from there. A new switch proved them wrong on that score- and further extensive reqding of ALL the wiring diagrams they list indicated everything from splices to phantom through floor connectors.
I wish you luck, the only definitive thing I have been able to prove is that the tempory wire run in parallel with the chassis wire did prove the problem to be in the wire and not in the switch.

On our 1999 Brave there is a Start/Stop switch and hour meter on the range hood and a Start/Stop switch on the dash.

I don't doubt you have a start/stop near your range hood-I don't, though it is close on an adjacent wall. I have 3 locations for genset start/stop switches in the house. When I hooked up my temp. wire the dash switch worked-but none of the other switches. While going through ALL the wiring diagrams I find different color wire and labels called out on some sheets. I am now thinking I'll order in an Onan EC-30W programmable start kit. You can program it to auto start the genset if inside temp reaches over a set point- handy if you leave animals in the MH, also auto start if batteries are running low-& you are not plugged into shore power. It has a wye electrical plugin that plugs into the control plug at genset. There is a video on You Tube of an Onan guy doing an install. It'll blow a big hole out of $600.00 but should solve more problems than it creates. I'd rather have that than forcing DW out under the hood to start genset-if I'm not in the vicinity.
