Hallway light

I recall a post about the swivel puck hall light that's over the control panel and the extreme heat it generates, I cannot find the post. I want to put an LED in it but I cannot get the cover off. Before I start hacking the thing apart can anyone let me know the size of the bulb and if there is particular way to get the cover off????
