As I was pulling into a fuel station today an exiting car pulled wide and slightly into my lane. I quickly turned to the right and my front wheels cleared a portion of the curb which jutted out but my rear outside dual tire banged hard against the curved curb portion which stuck out and the Journey either went over that portion of the curb for about two feet or was pushed hard away from the curb. All i know is that it was enough to open several closed cupboards and eject some contents.
It left a softball size scuff on the tire which is a one year old 275/70/22.5 Michelin Xza2 load range H.. Road tested after filling and all was smooth at 70 mph....Any suggestions regarding possible sidewall internal tire damage? I don't know how tough the sidewalls are on these tires but they appear very thick and heavy...thanks RKL

An NDI inspection of that tire is the only positive way I know of determining for sure if damage of any concern was incurred. That would involve demounting the tire and running it through the inspection cycle at a good retread shop.

RKL---I bet we have all "hit the curb" at one time or another. When I had my 2002 36' Journey I did the same thing and as you, really didn't see any damage to the tire except the scuff mark. I never had any further problems but---as FleetMan has stated, about the only way you are going know for sure is to have it broken down. I still think you are going to be okay. Good luck with your curb encounters in the future! John
