Having Trouble with Forest City Service Dept. Bad Paint

Hi,
Sorry for the long post, please bear with me.

I need some advice on how to deal with Forest City Service Dept. We purchased a used 2011 Ellipse last summer. Unfortunately, on our way home we were hit from behind, sustaining about $75k in damage. We took the motorhome immediately to Forest City for repairs, thinking they would do the best job.
We had a made a list of a number of other things to check out or repair while it was in the shop. The total for those repairs was about $4k.

One of the repairs they did was to correct some spider cracking in the corner of the bedroom slide. When we picked up the coach in December 2018, the repair looked good. There was some "orange peel" appearance to the clear coat, but I considered it was a minor cosmetic issue and I didn't complain. We drove the coach to Texas and put is in indoor storage for the winter. We picked it up late May and made our way back to our home in NH, stopping by Gaffney on the way. When we got home, I noticed the clear coat is peeling off in three places near the Ellipse logo. I can see and "feel" where the painting had been done by Winnebago. It is obvious to me the peeling is in the area where they were blending in the new with the old.

I contacted Forest City about the problem. Their response is that someone else must have painted that area (not true, I have contacted the previous owner) and even if it was their doing, it is now past Winnebago's 90 day warranty and they will not fix it unless I pay the cost.

The peeling clear coat looks much worse than the spider cracking that I had fixed. I can only imagine the peeling will get worse over time.

How should I proceed with getting satisfaction from Winnebago?

Burning in NH,
Barry Jensen

If it was painted by CDI I would contact them.

If it were mine, I would find a small local paint shop
and pay them 2/3 hundred and have them sand it
down and clear coat it again. I always try to choose my
battles careful....course that is just me.......coopcolt

I had a bad experience with the Forest City Service Center also and will never go back to them for anything.
