Heater core return hose location?

2001 Journey 36L. Anyone know where the heater core return hose line connects to on the other end? I *thought* it was to the top of the engine on the transmission side just under the bed. However...

I have run a 25' plumbers snake up the line and attempted to supply it with water from my garden hose, neither of which causes a single drip out of the other end.

I either: don't have the correct hose undone on the engine end, or it is 100% blocked.

I would love to see a heater hose diagram!

Thanks for the post. I've already been looking at that little drawing...

I did manage to figure out what's going on. Supply and return were mixed up. I was chasing my tail. There IS a blockage and it's in the motoraid portion of the water heater. :-(

I'm pulling the water heater now to inspect. Anyone know where I can get some of the black sealant used to glue that sucker in? It's certainly not typical RTV gasket selant. More like what they use to glue windshields in place.

Any ideas?

Locate a place that handles paint and auto body repair suppliess for auto body shops. They should have an assortment of adhesives from common RTV to the stuff used to 'glue' body parts together. You should be able to find what you need there. I have used an adhesive called Siliprene (sp) but it got rock hard when cured and required heat to soften it if you had to seperate ehat you 'glued' together.

Having R&R a lot of them. The best place to get that stuff is at a RV. place. A auto parts store will sell you some stuff you'll regret Later.. RV> tell what you are doing they will sell you the correct Stuff...

I have two shutoff valves in the heater lines back under the left (driver's) side of the engine (both shown in OFF position):




Perhaps one or both of your valves are closed?

When you pull the heater out you might find the fluid hoses in the back were "kinked". That's what happened to me....couldn't figure out why I was not getting heat up front....hoses bent blocking the coolant flow.

Yup, hose was kinked behind water heater. Thanks for all the help!
