Heater lines.

04 Winnebago sightseer. The lines going from engine to rear heater are rusted where heater hose connects to line. Can I cut the end off steel line, and connect heater hose with hose clamps. I know this line probably had a raised end on it.

Reconnecting heater lines

You can recreate the "Bump" on the end of the line with a flaring tool by doing a partial inverted flair.

The tubing on my Sightseer is also corroded. My corrosion is at the 90 degree bends at both ends and both tubes. In the spring I am going to remove them and take them to a local automotive shop that bends tubing. Should be able to have a set fabricated from the originals as patterns.

Have had these tubes weighing on my mind for a couple of years. Even created a "bypass" kit in case they sprung a leak on my trip to PEI last year.

Time to replace them though.

Might also see how good the rubber hose is as well. Never heard of them failing, but they are aging rubber.

Good luck.

I think it is 5/8, copper tubing might work. Also may consider 1/2 or 3/4 copper from Lowe's.
