Hello Adventurer!

Good point...five years ago we were sleeping in a tent, but we still call it camping. :-)

Your new coach...

I sure like the way the Bathroom countertop has been modified back to create a larger open area on the floor.

I'll be interested to know your thoughts on the "no carpet" doghouse and any resulting increase in sound you find between old/new coaches.

Thank you for your new and previous lead-in postings on the new coach!

Eric, on the drive home, the engine was much quieter than our Sunstar. I know they put extra sound insulation in the Adventurer and that the new transmission helps. The ride was also much smoother, which I attributed to the larger wheels and longer length. Wind noise was about the same. Overall, there were less squeaks and rattles, too.

Well congratulations and I hope you both really enjoy your new toy. As I tell my DW it's not Camping, it's RV'ing. Last time I checked when camping you didn't have Satellite TV, AC, Hot and Cold water, a well stocked fridge and a very comfortable bed to sleep in.

All true, but we tend to RV at the same state parks we used to camp in, so it still feels like we are going on a camping trip! :-)

Wow, it's so much fun to get a brand new rig! And yes, the bigger 22.5 tires seem to roll over the bumps so much easier.

Al, I see from the pictures that the big slide looks to have the Lippert slide mechanism. I know you're active on this forum and probably have read the problems folks have have from earlier years. So my questions is: Do you know what has been done to make the larger slides durable and more reliable than a few years ago?

Happy trails to you,
Bill

Thanks, Bill!
Yes they are Power Gear slides, now owned by Lippert. I know the mechanism changed from my Sunstar, in that the track is free-floating. They also right-sized the motors for the task. Many people had problems because they did not fully extend and fully retract every time. My Sunstar worked great for 5 years as many others have, so I'm not too worried. However, just in case, I have a good extended warranty (no comments on the warranty, please...to each their own :-)
Only time will tell, but it doesn't give me concern.
Al

Hi,

Congrats on your new Adventurer and it sure looks great. We have a 2014 35P and love it especially all the room with the slides out. My DW loves the washer and dryer (stackable) and the sleep number king size bed.

Fact of the matter we are in it now and will be until 3/1 and it is our second home as DW still needs house.

I did have problems with drivers slideout and after last visit to factory I now have a power gear system which works great, knock on wood. A few of the problems we had were with a Camping World Dealer and conversely a Camping World store in Alabama fixed all of them. I tinger around with some of the minor stuff and truly enjoy the coach (our 4th Winnie) and in my opinion they build a fine coach.

Enjoy it!!!!!!!!

Thanks,Tom! We had a few issues, but La Mesa and the west coast Winnebago factory service have been great to work with. In the 8 months we’ve had it, I think (knock on wood) we have all bugs at least identified, if not completely worked out. We had to replace the head unit of the stereo, the window over the dinette, and have a water leak below the sink area fixed. In March, when we go in for annual service, we’ll have the passenger seat cover replaced (stitching came undone) and the molding around the slides are moving slightly, so they are out of alignment with paint. Sounds like a lot, but none of those issues have kept us from using and enjoying the MotorHome. We both enjoy camping in it, and love the space, storage, and comfort. Take care and wishing you many miles with big smiles!
