Hi folks, hopefully you all can put my mind at ease.
1998 Chieftain 33w....The freshwater tanks are in two parts...connected by a 2" "crossover" hose. No idea why it's not just one tank unless is was for ease of assembly...These tanks will not fully drain because of this design...The 2" hose is located about an inch up from the bottom of each tank thus leaving about 1.5 inches of water in the tank. Under normal operations, my pump just sucks air when the tanks get to this level....
All of the lines going in and out of the tank have pink in them. Through the pump, filter, and up into the coach faucets...
DO I NEED TO WORRY ABOUT THE WATER LEFT IN THE TANK?

No, there is plenty of room for expansion when it freezes. My coach has been like this for years and never a problem.
Don't forget to run antifreeze through the toilet, sprayer and outside shower if so equipped.

Should not be a problem. Since water expands when it freezes if there is only a little in the bottom of the tanks it has lots of room to expand. Bad things happen when it has nowhere to expand to. Like in a pipe. The water expands and the pipe bursts.
Don't forget about the strainer filter attached to the suction side of the water pump. It needs to be drained if it dosen't have the "pink" in it.

I have two split tanks and both tanks have a drain valve.
Look on both sides of coach in compartments for drain.
Here is a thread on winterizing.
