I need to get to the back of the front TV to plug in the component video cables, so Mama can watch CDs or VHS tapes on that TV. Looks like the TV is probably the original, a 25" or so GE. I got a convertor box hooked into the TV input from the switch box, and have good TV reception.

When I acquired this coach, there was nothing in the switchbox compartment except the switchbox and a device (with no labels of any kind) that looks like a small tower with antenna in/out and component cables attached. Does anyone know if this may be a convertor that takes the component input and converts it back to RF output? If so, I could connect it to the DVD/VHS player, and connect the antenna output to the AUX on the stitchbox, and feed it to the TV that way. The thing that bugs me about this theory is, why does it need the antenna input? Any help appreciated.

Other question is, how do I get the nice cherry wood surround off the TV? I tried to drop the plastic cover off the back of the TV compartment, but it is fastened inside the compartment on the front. I can't find a visible screw or fastener of any kind that's accessible on the TV surround.

Check inside the cabinets on either side of the surround. You should find a couple of screws on each side, down low and near the front that screw into the hardwood surround.
