I am having a misserable time installing a new monitor/camera on my Itasca 2000 suncruiser IPG32V. My problem right now is how can I remove the metal plate at the top of the back of the MH in order to access the prewired cable which I want to replace. I removed the two screws that I thought held the plate in place but when I removed the screws and tried to take out the plate it was as tight as if I hadn't even taken out the two screws. Any help appreciated..Tom

It's probably sealed with putty tape or silicone caulk. Can you cut around it with a utility knife to break the seal? Then you could pry it loose with a screwdriver or putty knife, being careful not to mar the surfaces.

If you can't cut around with a utility knife, you might be able to work a very thin piece of wire (piano wire?) under the plate and saw it back and forth to break the seal. The key here is to use the thinnest, strongest wire you can find.

Hope this helps.

The metal plate is attached to the inside of the rear cap and seems to be only available to attached the rear camera. To pull cable seems to be only through the center rear clearance light. I have given up going along the channel where the original cable was installed and will attempt to place the cable under the chassis. I will attempt to fish the cable from below the bumper area to enable installing the camera onto the previously mentioned metal plate through the rear clearance light. whew....
