Help Roof Repair/Maintenance 94 Brave

So I need to re do the seam along the side of the roof and across the front and rear caps. I have a 94 Brave with the one piece fiberglass roof. I have the manus 75am and want advice on cleaning and prep for this job. Do I need to remove all the old sealant? Do I use the same sealant on the sides and both end caps? Any and all the advice I can get would be a BIG HELP to me.
Thanks

First, don't use silicone, it will fail and nothing else will stick to where the silicone was. I don't know how your '94 roof was built, but many threads on iRV2 talk about later year fiberglass roofs peeling off and failing if not maintained. https://www.google.com/search?q=winn...earch=irv2.com

It's generally best to remove old, lumpy caulk before new repairs. A hair dryer or careful use of a heat gun (on low!) can soften the caulk and a plastic scraper will help remove it. Acetone can be used to clean the residue. If you go to the Winnebago website, they might have the materials they suggest for repair and sealing, I know newer models have that information listed.

Well, you're on the right track - you've already bought the Manus Bond 75 urethane adhesive/sealant.

I cleared out ALL of the old sealant down both sides of the roof. I used a plastic putty knife and liberal amounts of denatured alcohol. It was slow and tedious work, but essential for a good and lasting bond. While I was at it, I also verified that the drain holes in the channel bottom were clear of debris.

After all of the mechanical cleaning is done, it doesn't hurt to follow up with another wipedown (I sued acetone for the last cleaning). When injecting the new sealant, make sure that you get it down deep into the channel. That will help to ensure a long-lasting seal and provide good adhesion between the roof material and the metallic channel.

I think that the front and back cap seals may have self-leveling Dicor.

There is a youtube video out there showing how to seal the roof:

And if you pay attention and listen to that video, you'll see EXACTLY what's used on different styles of Winnebagos. Not all coaches use the same roof-to-gutter sealant/adhesive.
