Here I am again asking for help. I"m trying to access the engine under the bed in my 2002 Journey DL. The bed goes from front to back and I want to get the access hatch open. Looking at it, I assumed that the rear part was A/C ducting as there is a filter on one end. I founr three bolts holding down the front, there are two sets of three bolts on the vertical piece, and three more bolts on the top of the back portion. Again, I ASSUMED that only the lower part was removable, but I'm apparently wrong.

Any help out there until I get to Camp Freightliner?

Thanks,

Paul

TEO: As I mentioned in an earlier post to you, the engine is accessed by the first larger metal panel and there should be 6 or 8 screws to remove. That panel will get you most of the access you will need. You can also take off the upper panel but it really is not that helpful for engine components. You might check the other post I sent as it contained a little more detailed info. Good luck.

Thanks Funtime, you were right on the money. I just had to put a little more oomph into the lifting. I'm going to remove the bed completely andopen all the access to the engine. Then I'm going to change everything I can reach and clean everything too. Access is not nearly as easy as in my Safari, so I don't want to have to change a belt or something while on the road. It's so much easier here in my driveway.
