I have a 2001 Horizon, with a 5000 pound hitch rating. The newer models on the same chassis (Journey, Meridian, etc.) all have a 10000 pound rating. Is this just a change in the rating, or did Winnebago change the hitch?

I believe changed the hitch and how it is mounted. Winnie wasn't the only one, I think this must have had something done by chassis manufacturers as well. I've noticed serveral makes that had the jump at the same time (Travel Supreme for example) and they involve different chassis.

My gut feel on this so don't take it as gospel.
