According to my owners manual, 98 Winnebago Chieftain, 33WB there is a bypass for the hot water heater. Can anyone tell me where? I have drained the heater and blown it out the entire system but would still like to know where the bypass is. Anyone's help will be appreciated.

I don't own a Winnie but it is likely under the sink in the same area as the inlets to the hot water heater, there should be three valve one each in the hot and cold inlets to the heater and one more to open the bypass between the two.

On my 95 Brave, there is a vent just below the refrigerator. Remove that vent cover and there is the hot water heater and you will see the valve. (if it's like mine)

It should be on the back, inside the coach, of the heater.

Mine are in a cabinet behind the water heater and very easy to get to.

Winnebago uses a one diverter valve system with check valves on the output and input lines. I don't know when they started doing that but I think it was quite a few years ago, so his 98 probably has it.
