Anyone know how to adjust the hot water temp. on a new 2011 Journey Express 34Y? The manuals say you can have one of two different control valves on the hot water heater and shows the temp adjustment for both. One has a round knob for temp adjustment and the other has a lever. Well, when I opened the cover to our hot water heater there was neither of these adjustment options, no round knob or lever on the control valve, nothing. Really need to adjust the hot water temp as it will boil you alive, it is REALLY hot!
Thanks,
Rick

Perhaps they have changed in the newer models, but the Attwood electronic ignition water heaters (the gas/electric models) I've seen have no temp adjustment. My '97 Adventurer and my 2002 Journey had the same water heater and there was/is no temp adjustment.

I believe they set them to a high temp so you will use less hot water (by using more of the cold water to maintain an acceptable temp).

If you have one of the newer models you might have a mixing valve on the back of the heater, which adds cold water to the outgoing hot water. It may be bad.

There is a limit switch that is usually set from the factory at 140 degrees. If that is to hot you can replace it with a 130 degree limit switch.
Talk to your dealer or local service person they will have these switches.
