House batteries

Hello everyone,

We just purchased a 2013 Sightseer 33c and it has, I believe the original house batteries. The chassis battery is new.
My question is how long can I expect the house batteries to last before needing replaced on average.

I just replaced my original house and chassis batteries this past March. My unit was manufactured in March 2010. So they lasted five years. My new house batteries:

Dale,
Everyone's house batteries are going to last a different amount of time. There's so many variables.
1. On board charging systems, how are they regulated? Some, will charge more than others and, quite often, overcharge them which, is not good on batteries.

2. How much dry camping does one do? The more you take them down to a low point, the more they cycle in charging which, again, wears them down a bit, per cycle

3. How well they're maintained. If they "boil over" due to improper charging techniques or, allowed to drop to almost no voltage at all, that's REALLY hard on batteries

4. Extreme hot or, extreme cold weather also takes a bit of a toll on them too. It depends on maybe where they spend most of their life.

5. An important point is, which kind too. 6V vs 12v in so called "Deep cycle". Also, the "AGM" ones are supposed to be top of the line and, they charge for it too. I've never been fortunate to own any. The true 6V "golf cart" batteries are supposed to last longer in terms of cycles of discharge and, recharge. And, they're supposed to last longer in terms of how far they can be discharged too. So, again, lots of differences.

So you see, some may get longer life out of an identical set of batteries than others will. I know of some that have gone only a 3-4 years on a set and others, as much as 9 years on a set. Is there an average, well, if I had to guess, I'd say somewhere in the neighborhood of 5 years, plus or minus.

Thanks everyone for your replies. Reason I asked is when I checked batteries when I first brought it home, one cell was dry, or at least below the plates and most of the others needed water. there are two 12 volt batteries.
I have some work being done at dealer and I asked to check both batteries.
most likely I am going to need two new ones. evidently they were not properly maintained. Other than that we love our 2013 Sightseer.
