Need help! Just arrived home from AK, great trip, cleaned rig in the driveway and went to store it a mile away. 50 amp but have 30 amp svc at home and while shutting down at lot, discovered no house power. Checked batteries for water level - not below plates but filled them up. 2007 Voyage with Interstate 12v batteries, could be original. Want to get good service out of next set of batteries. Some have suggested 6v deep cycle. Opinions welcome.

Just replaced my house batteries. I wanted to put in 4ea GC2 golf cart batteries, but lacked 1/4" front to back in the battery tray. I was able to put 4ea GC2 batteries in my 99 Brave. Put 3ea Group 29 deep-cycle/marine batteries from Sam's Club in. It should give me 375 amp/hr capacity, the golf cart batteries would have been 450 amp/hr.

Do not be sure yoru batteries are bad till you test the batteries themselves.
Possible issues OTHER than the batteires:
Disconnect switch in STORE or Disconnected mode (Very common, very very common) Circuit breker(ed) (Breaker tripped) The schematic for my battery conrol system shows two POST TYPE (Push, HARD to reset) circuit brekers in teh bottom of the control system box..... I don't hve them.. but many do, Converter failure, may be nothing more than blown fuse.. I do have those, or so it says. Bad connection, epically the chssis end of the negative cable.
And of course the ever popular "Other"

I would certainly put a battery charger on them to confirm they are toast.

You may want to check the solenoid that allows the batteries to charge while connected to pedestal power. This is the same solenoid that allows the power boost switch to jump start your chassis battery if dead. Easy enough to check by using a meter on your batteries. Get the reading, then plug in your shore power and check the reading on the batteries with the auxiliary battery switch off. Should be the same as the earlier reading. Now turn on the battery switch and check the reading. Should be 13+ volts indicating a charge. If it is not charging, check the solenoid which should be just above the batteries. There should be two of them. It will probably be the solenoid toward the rear of the coach. The other one is for the charging of the batteries when the engine is running. Take your meter and check the power at power on both large studs of the rear most solenoid. You should have power to both studs with the solenoid energized. It not, your solenoid is bad. Good luck.

Make sure your connections from the converter are tight.
