How to open a “doghouse” on a Sightseer/Chalet

I’m having charging issues on my ‘08 Chalet (Sightseer) built on a ‘07 Ford (V10) chassis. I would like to remove the alternator for testing as well as check the wiring to/from the alternator. Access through the doghouse would make this job a lot easier but I’m having trouble getting the lid open. Any ideas/tips would be greatly appreciated.
We are living aboard and registered “non-operational” so driving to a shop is not possible at this time. My chassis battery is a new Optima Redtop and fully charged by a trickle charger but I found that it is discharging during monthly engine runs. Tips, tricks?

My 2007 Sightseer doghouse has a phillips head screw on each side in the front and an allen head latch in the rear.

UPDATE! Thank you for your help. We were able find the latch release, my wife actually found it. For ours the latch release is located on the vertical aft facing surface of the cover an inch or two right of center. The alternator has been replaced, we’ll see how it goes from here.
