we have a 2002 Adventure 35U, ford chasis. there has been times when I have had to drive onto blocks and then put blocks under the jacks to get level. I have seen some rvs with the wheels raised off the ground. my question is should mine be able to raise the wheels off the ground with out putting blocks under the jacks?

Not necessarily, I think my front ones just come off the ground fully extended. It would depend upon the individual units suspension.

It is my understanding you should not have your rear wheels off the ground as your Emergency brake only works on the rear wheels so any fore aft strain then goes to your house jacks which are not made to handle horizontal stress very well. Do as you have done, block both tires to gain height and then block jacks and level up.
Good luck

Yes, I have to put blocks under the front jacks to lift the wheels off the ground. If the site looks very unlevel I'll use blocks under the jacks, lift the front wheels higher off the the ground than necessary, then put more blocks under the front wheels and lower the jacks so the blocks support the front wheels. I don't like for the front wheels to hang unsupported.
