HWH Question

OK what did I do? I added fluid to the HWH reservoir today and went to lower the jacks. When I turned the key to acc and went to lower the jacks, it just shut down. I had to have the key in the "run" position. The same with the slides--had to have the key turned to "run". I have always been able to put the slides out with the key off. Sooo something is different. Any ideas? Thanks--

My jacks and slide are electric powered and have a safety shutoff if the DC voltage gets too low. The slide / jacks pull alot of power so if your RV has been sitting, the battery may have drained a bit and the slide / jacks are shutting down due to low voltage. It happened to me one time where I was raising my jacks and it stopped so I thught it was done. I got out and walked away to go in the house and looked back and the jacks were halfway down. My manual suggests deploying the jacks and slide with the engine running as they are both powered from the chassis battery. When I arrive at the campground, I leave the engine running to let it cool down a bit and shut it off after the jacks are down and slide is out.

Cool check your ignition switch

John ...

I have had some intermittent electrical (fuel gage, jacks, slide) problems ... I think my problem was eminating from a "loose" switch ... I tightened the switch itself and most of my problems have gone away ...

A friend who has an Ultimate Advantage suggested the switch tightening ... it cured his problem completely

Thanks to you all for your thoughts. Skigramp--what switch are you referring to? I appreciate the feedback. Happy travels--John
