Hydraulic Leak

Took my rig in for its annual service. The techs identified a leak but it was part of the slide/leveler system. It is probably the rear bedroom slide or rear levelers. Since Freightliner doesn't deal with issues like this I need to find a RV dealer that can handle this issue.

Am I wrong or is this likely to be "to big" a job for the average dealer. I plan on calling HWH in the morning, but I thought I'd get some input here as to what should be my next move. I am currently in the Sacto, CA area and will be in the CA central coast area for awhile.

Leak

Nick -I have a 2002 Itasca Horizon and it developed hydraulic leaks at both slide syncronizing cylinders. HWH has a recall on some of their hoses so call them to see if you qualify. I drove my coach to Lake Havasu to have 3T's RV work on it as they are one of the best at working on HWH products-Good Luck

It's not a big job to replace the line but it could be messy if the tech doesn't know the proper procedure.

I would definately get it looked at sooner than later. One of the coaches on our 07 Alaska Caravan broke a hose to the main slide. Onecylinder stopped working immediatly but the slide got twisted in the opening before the pressure equalized on the remaining cylinder. It did some sheet metal damage to the slide trim. It took a couple hours to disconnect the binding cylinder and get the slide back in place. The slide had to be blocked in place to keep it from creeping out, and of course the couple had limited room until they coupd get it fixed.

A dealer in Fairbanks ordered a new hose and installed it when we came back that way a couple weeks later. It only took them a couple hours to inastll the hose and get the system up and running.
