Hi
I got my MH in May. In June, I checked the tank fluid level in the HPU for the slides. I needed almost 2 quarts. Today I checked and it again needs another 2 quarts. I part on concrete and open and close the slides quite often. I don't notice any leaks underneath. Is this usual?

Make sure your slides are IN and your Leveling jacks are RETRACTED. Than check your fluid level.

Thank you . I had my jacks down, but didn't realize that the oil supply came from the same HPU. I thought a seperate unit controlled the jacks. I will raise the jacks and try again.
Thanks again

According to HWH all the jacks need to be up and all of the slide actuating cylinders need to be in the retracted position when checking the fluid level. Depending on how your slides are configured this may require the slides to be in or out. In my case the passenger-side bedroom slide must be out (because the cylinders are actually extended when the slide is in) and the other three slides need to be in.

This should all be documented in your HWH Owner's Manual, although in my case the manual that came with the RV was slightly out of date and didn't actually include documentation on the 4-slide configuration. I was able to download an updated copy of the Owner's Manual from the HWH website, however, which contained all of the necessary info.

Hopefully you do not have the problem we have right now. Our 2002 Adventurer was always loosing hydraulic fluid, never could figure out where. Until fluid started flowing out under the bedroomslide. On out trip of a lifetime to Alaska of course. We have been stuck in Prince George, BC for a week now, while the local RV place located the blown hose, and ordered a replacement from HWH. Hopefully it will arrive today or tomorrow and we can get out of this motel. HWH says that they have a recall on some of the hoses on our model, hopefully we popped the right one and they will pay for all this. The basement A/C-furnace unit may be full of fluid too, getting that cleaned out might be fun...
