I have had hydrulic fluid leaking from near one of my jacks now for about a year now . So this weekend I decided to tackle the job and replace it. First off, I have a 2001 Itasca Sunrise, 30w. It was near the drivers side frount jack where the hose was leaking. I went into the job thinking I would have to replace the hose from the jack to the pump, and was dreading trying to route the hose through all the turns and twists. As it was the hose was only about 6 ft long and went to a valve just a few feeet away so it turned out to be not that hard.
see pictures here
I was surprized to see the damage that the hose had, it was leaking right near the metal end fitting. As you can see in the picture the outside covering of the hose has peeled away. Also further away from the end fitting you can also see what looks like heat damage, this comes from where a electrical wire was "zip tied" to the hose. I was surprized that there was heat damage there.
I had a new hose made up at a local shop here, they were real nice and I put about a foot of speacial fire retardent covering on the hose on that end to try and stop that from happening again.
So folks might want to keep an eye out for any damage to thier hoses, especialy check where there are any wires "zip tied" to the hoses.
