I have owned my 2005 Itasca Sunova 30B/Ford for over a year now. I still have not figured out on how to turn on the overhead interior light that is over the drivers seat on the wall. I would describe it as a mini-spot/area light. There is an identicle light on the passenger side and an obvious switch for it on the wall. I have tried to follow the wiring diagrams on Winnie's website with no luck. My best guess is it might be tied into Fords interior dome light switch, where ever that is!

Let's see who can make me say, why didn't I try that....

Thanks in advance!

Rotating the headlamp switch does it on my Freightliner/Journey.

Same on our Dutch Star/Spartan although each light also has a switch that needs to be on.

on my moho, the dash light dimming device has a detent that turns the overhead light on when turned all the way to the top.

In mine, it is controlled like a dome light in the car, from the headlight switch. Turn it all the way over. If the light does not come on, there is a switch on the light itself that also needs to be on. If that does not work, check for power or replace lightbulb.

For some of us it's hard to imagine someone who doesn't know how to use the "old" style, pull on headlight switch. But, when you think about it, most newer cars don't have the same kind of headlight switch that is still common on motorhomes/vans/trucks.

Some of the Fords also have a small wheel, for lack of a better description, buit into the dash next to the headlight switch that dims the dash lights. Roll it up past a detent to see if that will turn them on.

If you have a small thumbwheel mounted vertically in the dash near where the leveling pad is-try turning the knob all the way up until the overhead turns on. There you have it. It's the dimmer for your instrument cluster.

You were right! I rolled up the dashlight dimmer all the up and the light turned on. Buy only after I exchanged bulbs with the light on the other side. Both bulbs work, must have been a bad connection.

THANKS to every one that replied! Hopefully I can return the favor some day...

Never thought about what my National Sea Breeze does when I rotate the dimmer wheel to the detent. If it wasn't 1:35 AM, I'd go check. Added to my to-do list. I do have the map lites with a switch on the lite and one below on each side.

Our switch (2005 Itasca Sunrise) turns on like the dome light in the car (from the instrument panel on the dash). Why they put it there instead of on the lamp itself is a mystery. Hubby looked for 20 minutes before he found it.

Thanks for the info. I just purchased my 11 Vista and was learning the radio today, tried the light and it didn't come on, came in and read this post, went out and turned the little wheel and on it came.

Nick
