Ideal Rest bed

Looking at a 2011 Ellipse and would like more information on the Ideal Rest mattress. How does it compare with the sleep number bed, and anything else of interest to a prospective owner.

We just got a 42' Tour with the Ideal Rest bed after having the Sleep Number. So far, after just a few nights, I like the new bed better than the sleep number. I liked the memory foam of the new bed and seem to sleep great. We will see what the future holds, but so far, so good.

I also have the Ideal rest. After Sleep # experience in the past, I'm a Ideal rest man. The idea is for the bend in the bed, can't do that with a Sleep number.

We have the sleep number and really like it. We don't watch much TV in bed, bedroom TVs and marriage make for very unexciting bedrooms and boring evenings.

That said, being able to adjust the sleep number is really nice, expecially if you've managed to kink up your back a little or just had a hard day.

It is very important to adjust the sleep number properly. Just laying on the bed and then seeing what feels right doesn't work well. You should lay flat or in the position you normally sleep in and without a pillow find your sleep number. Then all is well and you use the pillow.

Sometimes I want my side firm, other times softer. None of the fixed mattresses can do that.

Maybe one day we'll want to adjust the bed to watch TV and so on but hopefully that will be the last night we go to sleep and a long time from now.

Thanks for all the replies. As it stands now we have made the decision to move from dreaming to the negotiation stage. The unit is a 42QD w/450hp ISL and all the bells and whistles. Tuesday we will start the serious dealing, we are still not close on the value of my trade-in (2003 Beaver Monterey 38' w/350 Cummins).

I was hoping someone else had the Ideal Rest bed, we picked our brand new 2011 37F Suncruiser up in Jan. and the bed hasn't worked at all. It's a king and my side keeps deflating, we have had it in the shop twice and just picked it up again today after they said they fixed it (new baffle and adjusted the regulator) first thing I noticed my side was deflated so I pumped it up to 50 and with in 45mins it had deflated again. Called Campers World back where we bought it and took for repair they said it was fixed >>hmmm so we said we would bring it back after our trip (I will be sleeping in a hole) Oh by the way they had it for two months they said waiting on parts>>>hmmm! Any suggestions???? It seems we have had noting but issues with this brand new coach since Jan....don't get me started I could go on and on...Unhappy sleeper/camper

Had the same issue with our new 42qd. Took it to my dealer and in 3 days they ordered an new air bag and replaced the bad one. I was able to pick it up and leave on a 2 week trip. The bed is fixed and I am very happy with it. I have 6200 miles on it and as of now I have only 4 minor items on my punch list. Very satisfied with the entire unit.
