Infotainment System

Getting ready to travel tomorrow in my 2016 38/Q and I notice all the control buttons on the infotainment system are sticky. It's like the rubber coating has softened. I gently tried to clean them but no joy. The front of the head unit above the copilot seat is also sticky. Same issue, it like the rubber coating has deteriorated.

Anyone else with this issue. I'll be calling Riverpark next week. TIA Bob

Had the same thing happen to the frame around the backup camera in my last coach. Now I am very careful not to use any type of cleaning liquids around the dash, Citrus based cleaners can soften rubber coatings.

Anything from Riverpark or too early Bob?
Is it impacting the operation or control of the Infotainment system

So far have not seen that on mine (knock on wood).

Joe

Hey Joe. I was traveling today. Made it into Fort Myers.... sticky buttons and all. Hopefully I'll make the call tomorrow. Hope all is well with you and yours. Bob

I did contact Riverpark today about my sticky buttons. They said the system in my coach is the G3 and it was discontinued about 2 years ago. The tech said parts are not available. He also said he has not heard of this issue before.

I told him I was thinking about trying to find a black talc and dusting the buttons to remove the tackiness. He said he was going to see if he could find something that might seal the rubberized finish.

FYI, I updated the SD card in the system before this trip and it has never run so well. And with the roof AC's running, the buttons didn't seem as sticky. I think the Florida heat has deteriorated the rubber finish. Safe travels to all.

Good info Bob, many thanks for the follow up.

Not good to hear about their discontinuing that product, Sure make one wonder about how to deal with t going forward? Mine has been somewhat sporadic lately with a few glitches--- cameras freezing up, unit coming on without any inputs etc. Fingers crossed. Updating this week.
