Instrument Panel Fuse

I keep blowing the 15 amp fuse for the instrument panel (adjustable green backlighting for gauges and upper panel). I replaced the switch but still am blowing the fuse. It blows when I rotate the Cargo Dome dial forward. I am stumped. I can't see any wire chafing. The wires are encased in the black plastic wrap.

Does anyone have any ideas? I am afraid to take it to the dealer and have it turn into a huge ordeal.

Take a good look at the bullet light fixtures up high on the left and right side. Remove the bulbs ... repeat the procedure. See if the fuse blows.

Are you talking about the reading lights behind the seats? Or are you talking about lights somewhere in the dash? Thank you

It looks like I might have to take it in if no one has any other ideas. I am really worried about doing so. I just don't trust my local service . Does anyone no of a very experienced and reliable service center in Texas or New Mexico that could quickly trace what is most likely a short?

I know everyone is going to say this is a no-no but put in a 20 amp fuse and try it again...

I have resisted the urge to do that but must admit I have been very tempted
