Our Adventurer 35U has the central unit located right under the head of the Queen bed. Problem is that when it comes on it makes a significant amount of noise both starting and ducting the air up the corner in the left rear. Has anyone had this problem how did you fix it?

I don't have this problem but understand the problem as I have a water pump that shakes the trailer (slight exaggeration). The Problem is mostly that you have something that shakes that is firmly anchored to a sounding board. The key is damping the sounding board and isolating the source producing that vibration. There are various sound/vibration damping materials available used in marine and automotive applications. Most important however is the use of isolation mounts on the compressor/AC.
Corry Rubber - Elastomeric Isolation Mounts - Anti Vibration, Shock Attenuation, Vibration Attenuation
Anti Vibration Mounts - suspension mounts, wheels, leveling feet, bumpers, grommets, pads

Our current and past motor homes had the same issue. When the AC is on at night, we leave the fan on. The compressors starting and stopping don't make such jarring sound changes.

Damping materials won't be much help in this situation. The unit fits in a cradle so tight you can hardly get it out and back in. The exterior fan is usually the most noisy part and can be replaced with a quieter replacement.

Search a thread by Dunner on replacing the fan.

If I can find the thread I'll post

X2 for the AC. We avoid the heat pump at night by using an electric heater in the coach and lightbulbs in the critical compartments if it's going to be much below freezing. If it gets much colder, the heat pump won't run but the furnace will. It's kind of noisy also.
