When we pulled into a RV Park here in Las Vegas I went through my normal hook ups, etc. I found that I had no 110VAC to most everything in the coach. Closer inspection revealed that everything on the EMS had no power. Checking it out I found that the charger portion of the inverter/charger relay was not in, and the charger was not working. Other symtoms were the EMS panel was lit up, and indicated that I was hooked up to a 50 amp service.
I remembered that sometime ago when I had talked to a Xantrex factory tech about another inverter problem he had told me about a common problem on the Freedom 2000 inverter/chargers. He told me the PC board can come loose from its edge connector, and if it does the charger would be inoperative. I followed his instructions of pressing in on the top of the case, and sure enough the charger sprung to life. At my next stop I will remove the cover, clean the edge connector and reseat the board, but until then it works.
I write this in the event one of you my experience the same event. Looking at the prints, I am thinking about removing the interlock with the charger. Since we always park where full hookups are available, and we only use 12VDC for some lights we could last for days without the charger. This would at least allow us to occupy the coach when either repairing, or getting parts to repair the inverter/charger.
