Just had 3 new Trojan series 31 batteries installed to replace prior batteries of the same type. After installation, the inerter is showing some crazy indications. It inverts (makes AC) as it should and appears to be charging judging from the power management panel, but the indicator lights do a moving ladder thing. The manual for the inverter (a Heart Freedom unit) is of no or little help.
I'm currently plugged in and appear to be charging and the new batteries seem OK showing 14+ volts during charge. This may be a problem that will resolve itself when the system finds the batteries have gotten fully charged, but any information anyone has would be welcome.

Please clarify if the new batteries are vented cell type or sealed/AGM type versus the previous group 31's.

Decided to trying starting over with the connections. Disconnected AC and turned off battery disconnect. Then removed both negative cables from the battery assembly. After this, made sure that all readings on the batteries was 0. Then reconnected negative terminals and made sure connections were tight. Activated battery disconnect and restored AC power. This time the system came up normally - showing 12.3 volts on the house batteries and a normal charge panel reading.

SOUNDS LIKE THE CONNECTIONS ARENOT CONNECTED PROPERLY OR THE WAY IT WAS BEFORE YOU HAD THEM REPLACED. CHECK IT IN COMPARISON TO BAGO WIRING DIAGRAM.
