When it comes to our inverter, we know nothing! So, I'm requesting some help.

The only time we run our inverter is when we're rolling, which allows us to run the fridge on AC.

Yesterday, when I turned on the inverter, the display read 0 watts....I'm assuming the fridge wasn't running, and nothing else was on....and our voltmeter that's plugged in the front of the coach pegged out to the right (140+?). That did not look good. So, I turned the inverter off and we ran the fridge on LP.

At a rest stop I turned the inverter on again (just to see if had mysteriously healed itself). The fridge was running, and when I turned on the inverter the display read 450 watts. The needle on the voltmeter leaned to the right then centered at 120. Hmmmmm. Since we had the LP on, I turned the inverter off and we were underway.

When we reached our destination, I tried the inverter once more before we plugged in. Fridge wasn't running. I turned the inverter on, it read 0 watts and the voltmeter pegged out. (We really need to get a digital voltmeter!)

We have a service appt scheduled this morning about to take care of another issue, so we'll add this to the list. But, since I know nothing, I thought I'd check in here and see what y'all think might be going on.

Thanks!
Mary

Mine has always acted this way also. We run our Sleep Number bed, microwave, computer, and other misc. All appliances work fine. I believe the voltage meter is for true sine wave voltage and the inverter supplies modified sine wave voltage.

Some inverters will do strange things to volt meters if there is no load

Gotta go, conference time on another web page

That is usually how I can tell we've lost park power. I keep inverter on standby and when the voltmeter jumps to approx. 125 volts I "start rounding up the usual suspects".
