Hi ct78barnes,
In setting up our new 2011 Itasca Cambria I found one thing that I missed on our PDI. While putting the mattress topper on the bed my butt bumped the side valance on the window. I almost ripped it off. Upon inspection I discovered one of the mounting screws was only in partway and when I bumped it the screw simply let go. After inspecting all side valances in the coach I found several screws only partway in. This is a simple fix and I will just screw them in. I will take pictures and notify the dealer just in case. When you do your PDI just give the side valances a little shake to see if they are loose or just check the lower l brackets on all side valances and have the dealer repair. In the two weeks we have had the Cambria this is the only issue that we have found (knock on wood).

Ditto on the valances. We had the same issue with our 2011 Vista. But only on the one on the "close" side of the bed.

Also, if you have any vinyl flooring, check it carefully for bits of wood shavings or other debris underneath. We had a 3 spots. Discovered 2 right away, but the third wasn't found until we were on a trip. I was afraid it might wear through (it was right in front of the sofa where my husband sits) so I padded it with some of that rubbery, no-slide shelf liner under some good old duct tape until we got home and took it to our dealer.

Hope you enjoy your new Sightseer as much as we've been enjoying our Vista.

Fran

Make sure the gas tank is full & the black tank is empty.

And be sure and take it for a test drive.

Spend the night in the dealer's lot (not Saturday or Sunday). If you find anything, they can address it before you leave.

Absolutely! This one was my mistake. When I called and talked to Winnebago, they said the delivery driver hadn't noted any problems. Don't you believe it. There was a problem and Winnebago didn't want to own up to it.

Some people like to take a video recording for a record and so you have a reference that may answer any questions later. I have a PDI coming next week. I don't know that I'll do anything special. I didn't last time and it worked out fine. The dealer is only a couple of miles from here and has taken care of warranty problems. If the dealer was farther away, I might want to document things more thoroughly.

Hi kjburns,
I did video the entire PDI. I found this to be very helpful. They cover a lot of information and it can be hard to remember everything. I am also lucky in that if needed my dealer is only 30 minutes away.

Hi ct78barnes,
How did the PDI go? How is your new RV? I hope all went well and the dealer treated you good.

Hope you have a great time with it! We have enjoyed our '08 ever since delivery, and have had very few problems. As you know, they now have the one piece windshield and other goodies that they didn't have before- all improvements i n my opinion.
