Itasca Meridian Tail Light

I have a 2010 Itasca Meridian 40U and am looking for a replacement passenger side turn/brake light. I have tried all of the salvage yards that I have found listed and the parts houses. I contacted Winnebago and the part has been discontinued and none in stock. Has anyone found a "or equal" or someone that may have a used/new one?

That totally sucks! Given the vast resources of this Forum there is a member here who will have a source. Sit back, buckle up, an answer will be coming.

p.s. Welcome back to the Forum.

I think you will find that almost all Winnebago headlights, taillights, etc. are standard on some other vehicle that probably pre-dates the RV by a year or more. (For instance, on my 2005 Vectra the taillights come from a Corvette and the headlights from a Mercury Mountaineer.)

The trick is finding out which vehicle they come from. If there are any molded numbers on the existing light fixture a Google search may turn of the appropriate part. Sometimes even an 'image' search on Google can find the matching part. I've seen various threads over the years on this and other forums (e.g. rvforum.net, RV) compiling info from folks on where their lights come from, so some forum searching might prove helpful as well.

Btw, it looks like the 40U first came out in the 2011 model year, so you might double check the year of your coach (and not the year of the chassis, which may be a year earlier).

I can't find a good image. Is the one attached correct? Hard to see the taillights. Are they Glo-Brite 8522?

(There's been other threads that say that Glo-Brite is out of business, but there's still info out there.)

the discontinued LED model taillights for my 11 40U appeared on eBay

https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?m...2F253247950351

I purchased a set as my LEDs are slowly failing. But haven't installed yet.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-CAMPER-...oAAOSwImRYh5Q5

(Glo-Brite 8520, black trim)

or

https://www.ebay.com/itm/SET-OF-2-CA...AAAOSwA3dYh5Dp

(Glo-Brite 8522, chrome trim)

Original Glo-Brite product page is here.

Confirm before buying. I just worked through the Winnebago online parts catalog to get these numbers:

EXTERIOR LIGHTS 176848-01-000
LAMP 153658-02-01A

The top looks clear, but I assume that is not a backup/ clear white.

Didn't think they made 40Us as a 2010 model year. Some 2010 and shorter 2011 had bulb (non led) stop/ tail/ turn lights.

I don't see an amber lens on the old Glo brite website, which is still out there, for reference?!?

I looked long and hard for replacements with no luck and months later just randomly found the eBay product that I posted before. That might be your best fit. I can take pictures of mine if you want. Haven't installed but the connector looks similar to the one you posted. Click image for larger version
