Itasca Sunstar 30 T levelling system

Quite simply, I got in to set off, the jacks would not retract, a message of "external sensor error" appeared on the control panel. Which meant that the rear sensor was bad, shorted , open circuit or the wiring to it was bad. Winnebago agreed to fix it as a good will gesture , the warranty was out by one month, I took it to the dealer who ordered a new sensor. One month later they installed the new sensor only to find that the wiring had been chewed up by rats or squirrels, they said...... The cost to me would be $ 600.00 for a new harness and installation. " Forget it!" were the first words out of my mouth. The next day I did my own investigation, I found that the wiring harness was routed inside the rear right jack channel and the wire had severed inside that channel by the jack mechanism, not rats........The end result being that with the wires spliced back together , the system is operational again. So , Winnebago owners out there, be aware of this problem.
