The left rear is really slow retracting. In fact it usually stops about 8" from being fully retracted. I opened the pipe plug, fluid came out and it started moving. I'm thinking that the springs are weak. Any ideas?

When we were at GNR last year we stopped at HWH and had them check ours. They were always very slow, about 10 to 15 min. to come up, but within the allowed time limit. Well, we had them replace the springs with better and stronger ones and there was a very BIG improvement. They came up under 3 min. Of course this is all good for the new owner of our coach...just hope the new Vectra does as well.

Finhawk, there are pros and cons, but I lubricate with Silicone about once a year. Do a search and you will find a lot of info on the subject. Good Miles

One of my rear jacks is a bit slower than the rest but, as Jim noted, I started spraying the cylinders with silicone about once every six months, and they all retract fairly quickly, even in cold weather. If we get to stop at HWH on a trip out West this year, I plan to have them replace all the springs and check a few other things.

FWIW,

Last Sept. we stopped at HWH for replacement of a defective solenoid. I mentioned sometimes the jacks take long to retract. They put the new heavier springs on at no charge.
