Hey All,

Staying in Branson, hot (94) and very humid! Started day with A/C at 75, very pleasant. Mid-afternoon temp in coach is 86 but cools back down to 75 in evening. Rear of coach faces west, all blinds closed, awning out. New filter and used water to clean the condenser coils per Winnebago. Two questions: is this a reasonable temp change and does the a/c need freon? Thanks

I'm in Georgia & just came up from Florida with similar outside temperatures you mention. My inside temp gets up to 81 -83 in the late afternoon. This is with the basement air conditioning. We leave the A/C fan running during the day which helps distribute or circulate the air.

We'll be in Branson in a week or so - do you recommend the RV park where you are (assuming you are in a park).

What type of power are you plugged into? 30 Amp or 50 Amp. If plugged into 30 Amp, there may be a power problem at the power post and both of your compressors are not kicking in. You should read 24 to 26 Amps on your Powerline gauge with both compressors running when hooked up to a 30 Amp service. Try starting your generator and run the air conditioner off of that power. There should be about a 20 Degree difference between inside and outside air temperatures.

The difference should be leaving air temperature from the ducts (supply) compared to the return air temperature to the air conditioning unit... not outside air.

A 15-20 degree differential is what you want to see..

We have stayed in three different rv parks in Branson: ABC Campground (1), MusicLand (3 with our Class C) , and the Branson KOA (6 with our Journey which we like the best). Easy in and out, you can preview your site, Ralph, Kim, Angie and staff do a super job! If this is your first time to Branson stay off 76 in your rig and most of the other times. Use the Red and Yellow routes which work great. Thanks for your help!

When we were last in Branson, it was 94 - 97 degrees and we were at ABC and there is no shade there. We were able to maintain 75 inside during the hottest part of the day by doing the following:

1. main awing out, deploy all window awnings (window awnings really help)
2. gotta have a sunscreen for the windshield. We have the black snap on screens for the windshield, driver's window and the entry door window. Pull curtains inside windshield.
3. put one of those square padded things in the only roof vent that does not have a Maxx Air cover to block the sun.
4. cut a piece of the foil insulating material we got at CW and put it in the skylight in the shower to block the sun.

This seemed to do the trick.

One thing you should check is the rear ductwork exiting the AC unit and going up inside the rear cap. Many folks have found they need to retape (with aluminum duct tape) some of the seams of that duct. With the AC running feel around the duct and see if you feel any cold air escaping--if so you need to get that fixed. If you search the forum I think you'll find a number of posts and maybe even some pictures regarding this.
