I have an 04 Journey 39K with the "J" Sofa on the curbside slide. Has anyone successfully removed this and installed a recliner chair? I know the exterior radio, wires, etc. is behind the sofa and that the floor is raised. I think the radio cover could be modified to make a small table. I am thinking the floor would have to have a carpeted piece to place in front of the raised floor to support the chair hoop when parked. Ideas??

We visited a couple in an 06 39k that made this change. It looked fine. They had a wooden enclosure made for the back of the radio and speakers so it matched the cabinetry.

It seems to me that you need to fasten the recliner to the raised floor in some manner ... it would be a safety issue to have the recliner unsecured in case you need to stop suddenly.
